Network’s First 10 Practices
3-Minute Box Breath
Settle in four counts: in, hold, out, hold. Sit comfortably, soften your shoulders, and follow each step without rushing. In for four, hold for four, out for four, hold empty for four. Try eight rounds. Start now.

Physiological Sigh Reset
Two inhales, one long exhale, calm in under a minute. A fast downshift when your nervous system is buzzing. No app, no timer required. Double inhale, long sigh out — three rounds is usually enough. Sit still.

5-Minute Cyclic Sigh
The daily physiological sigh for better mood and slower baseline breathing. One or two sighs reset you anytime; five minutes a day is what shifted the baseline in the study. Same time, same place each day.

2-Minute Name the Thought
Catch the loop, label it, let it pass. When your mind is spinning, don’t argue with it — name it. Notice the next thought, give it a plain label, and let it pass. End with one breath in, one long breath out.

What’s Off?
Name the friction before it runs your day. When something’s off but you can’t name it, don’t scroll past it — pin it down. One slow breath in, longer out, then ask: is something off right now? If the answer is no, stop.

Decide in 5
Cut through indecision with one clear call. When you’re stuck between options, don’t spiral — decide on a clock. Write the decision in one line, list at most three options, pick one. If you have more, merge or drop.

The Long Exhale
Make the out-breath twice the in-breath and watch tension drain. Your heart speeds up as you inhale and slows as you exhale — the exhale is when the vagus nerve applies its brake. Stretch it and lean into that brake.

The Resonance Breath
Breathe at your heart’s favorite tempo and let your nervous system sync up. Around 5.5 breaths per minute, roughly 5 seconds in and 5 seconds out, where breathing and heart rhythms amplify each other. Start today.

Counting Breaths (Susokukan)
The oldest focus trick in the book: count to ten, then start over. Count each exhale from one to ten, then begin again. One boring job for working memory, less room for rumination. Lose count? Begin again.

The Bee Hum (Bhramari)
Hum your exhale and feel your shoulders drop. Close your eyes and hum softly on every exhale. The extended, vibrating out-breath gives a restless mind a single sound to rest on. Eyes closed, shoulders down.
